The Interstate Fisheries Management Program (ISFMP) serves as the core of decision-making, where species management boards establish regulations to conserve fishery resources, supported by an active participation framework. The ISFMP Policy Board oversees this, monitoring stock performance and policy implementation with representation from all member states and several federal agencies.

The Advisory Panel met on April 21st to review recent research, monitoring, and landings. The group discussed options included in draft Addendum V as well as issues beyond Delaware Bay. Panel members in attendance represented harvesters (horseshoe crab and conch), dealers, processors, biomedical companies, and the conservation community.

The TC convened to give feedback on the various options contained in the Final Draft Interstate Fisheries Management Plan for Atlantic Coastal Sharks. The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for federal Amendment 2 to the Consolidated HMS FMP was presented to the TC at the beginning of the meeting allowing them to consider how the various management options would relate to new federal regulations.
