The Interstate Fisheries Management Program (ISFMP) serves as the core of decision-making, where species management boards establish regulations to conserve fishery resources, supported by an active participation framework. The ISFMP Policy Board oversees this, monitoring stock performance and policy implementation with representation from all member states and several federal agencies.

The Advisory Panel met April 23rd to review recent landings and monitoring, the stock assessment, and the Adaptive Resource Management (ARM) Framework. The group also discussed North Carolina’s quota transfer request and other issues outside of the Delaware Bay region. Panel members in attendance represented harvesters (horseshoe crab and conch), processors, and biomedical companies.

The Technical Committee (TC) met on April 6th primarily to review the benchmark stock assessment peer review conclusions and recommendations. The TC also reviewed North Carolina’s quota transfer request. The meeting was held at the Renaissance Inn by the Philadelphia Airport.
