The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s (Council) and the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s (Commission) Bluefish Advisory Panels (AP) met via webinar on June 22, 2023 to review the Fishery Information Document and develop the following Fishery Performance Report. The primary purpose of this report is to contextualize catch histories by providing information about fishing effort, market trends, environmental changes, and other factors.

The Atlantic Striped Bass Technical Committee (TC) and Draft Addendum II Plan Development Team (PDT) met via webinar on June 28, 2023 to continue discussions on estimating the impact of the 2023 Emergency Action and development of 2024 management options for Draft Addendum II. The June 28 meeting is a follow-up to the June5 TC-PDT meeting.

The primary purpose of this report is to contextualize catch histories for the Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) by providing information about fishing effort, market trends, environmental changes, and other factors.

Addendum I allows for voluntary transfers of ocean commercial quota contingent on stock status. When the stock is not overfished, the Board will decide if voluntary transfers of ocean commercial quota between states that have ocean quota is allowed, and can set criteria for those transfers. When the stock is overfished, no quota transfers are allowed.
