Fisheries Management
The Interstate Fisheries Management Program (ISFMP) serves as the core of decision-making, where species management boards establish regulations to conserve fishery resources, supported by an active participation framework. The ISFMP Policy Board oversees this, monitoring stock performance and policy implementation with representation from all member states and several federal agencies.

On the November 20, 2018 conference call of the Shad and River Herring Technical Committee (TC), the TC designated a smaller task group to develop the October 2017 Board task regarding improvements to Amendments 2 and 3. This task group (TG) met via conference call on January 7, 2019 to advance work on identifying and describing conflicts between the requirements of the Amendments and state management and monitoring programs.

States implementation plans and conservation equivalency (CE) proposals for Addendum VI were due November 30, 2019 for technical review. The Atlantic Striped Bass Technical Committee (TC) met December 17-18, 2019 to review technical merit of state implementation plans and CE proposals, and to ensure the accepted criteria outlined in M19-084 were followed.
