The Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass Technical Committee (TC) received two proposals, one for summer flounder and one for black sea bass, from New Jersey (NJ) and Massachusetts (MA) respectively, to modify their recreational fisheries in 2021 under conservation equivalency (CE). The proposals detail how states would make small season modifications to allow for weekend openings in May. The Winter Flounder Technical Committee (TC) met via conference call to review the Gulf of Maine (GOM) and Southern New England/Mid-Atlantic (SNE/MA) stock assessments, New England Fishery Management Council recommendations for federal specifications, and commercial and recreational fishery trends and to discuss whether adjustments to state water specifications should be made for the 2021 fishing year.

In August 2020, the Bluefish Management Board (Board) tasked the Technical Committee (TC) with reviewing the effectiveness of the Addendum I sampling design, specifically reevaluating the optimal geographic range and sample size for bluefish age data.
