Information:Email: kanstead@asmfc.org At the February 2023 meeting of the American Eel Management Board, the Board received presentations on the 2022 benchmark stock assessment and peer review report. The Board tasked the Stock Assessment Subcommittee with providing justification for not incorporating the peer review advice (e.g., completing a management strategy evaluation) and running some alternative analyses. The Board was interested in seeing index simulation work including a discussion about the influence of the Hudson River indices on the yellow eel index trend in addition to including different options within the proposed management tool, ITARGET. The Stock Assessment Subcommittee completed the follow-up work and will be presenting it to the Technical Committee for their comments and edits on the June 27th call. If approved by the Technical Committee, this work will be presented to the Board at the August 2023 meeting. Please note this is a working meeting of the American Eel Technical Committee and Stock Assessment Subcommittee. The public is welcome to listen in, but there will be limited opportunity to provide comments during the call/webinar.
