At the August 2022 meeting of the Atlantic Menhaden Management Board, the Board tasked the Atlantic Menhaden Technical Committee (TC) with developing projections using the ecological reference points (ERPs) and the single-species assessment model (Beaufort Assessment Model, or BAM). Specifically, the Board requested the following projections:

Determine the Total Allowable Catches (TACs) that have a 40%-60% probability of exceeding the ERP target, in 5% increments using 2023-2025 combined and as separate years.
Determine the percent risk of exceeding the ERP target and threshold if the current TAC was changed by -10% to +10% in 5% increments, including 0% (the current TAC).

The TC will meet via webinar to review the results of the projection analysis and discuss 2025 benchmark assessment planning, if time allows. Please note this is a working meeting of the TC. The public is welcome to listen in, but there will be limited opportunity to provide comments during the call/webinar. During conference calls/webinars, we ask that the public and other non-participating attendees please mute their lines in order to minimize distractions to the TC’s deliberations.
