The Atlantic Croaker Technical Committee met at the request of the South Atlantic State-Federal Fisheries Management Board on September 26, 2005 in Alexandria, VA. The three major agenda items for the Technical Committee to address were; 1) Develop triggers for Atlantic croaker stock assessments; 2) Finalize monitoring requirements for Amendment 1 and; 3) Discuss Atlantic croaker SPRs.
Fisheries Management
The Interstate Fisheries Management Program (ISFMP) serves as the core of decision-making, where species management boards establish regulations to conserve fishery resources, supported by an active participation framework. The ISFMP Policy Board oversees this, monitoring stock performance and policy implementation with representation from all member states and several federal agencies.

The Lobster Management Board of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission convened in the Presidential Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, August 17, 2005, and was called to order at 4:45 o’clock p.m. by Chairman Patten D. White.

This Addendum establishes a program wherein the Board has the ability to sub-divide the recreational summer flounder coastwide allocations into voluntary regions. The Addendum also allows for averaging of multiple years of data in analyses to determine impacts of proposed recreational management programs.
