The Atlantic Striped Bass Management Board of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission convened in the Jefferson Ballroom of the Westin Crystal City Hotel, Arlington, Virginia, via hybrid meeting, in-person and webinar; Wednesday, May 1, 2024, and was called to order at 1:15 p.m. by Chair Megan Ware.

The Interstate Fisheries Management Program (ISFMP) serves as the core of decision-making, where species management boards establish regulations to conserve fishery resources, supported by an active participation framework. The ISFMP Policy Board oversees this, monitoring stock performance and policy implementation with representation from all member states and several federal agencies.

The Law Enforcement Committee (LEC) of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) first prepared the Guidelines for Resource Managers on the Enforceability of Fishery Management Measures (Guidelines) in 2000. The core of the new Guidelines is an enforceability matrix for fishery management measures.
