This conference was in response to the Atlantic Herring Section tasking the TC to give feedback advice for an addendum to achieve the goals of the following motion. Move to initiate an addendum (Addendum I) to include the following: – Monthly or bimonthly quotas with payback and carry over; – Determination of landing and fishing days; – No fishing prior to June 1; – Timely reporting of state registered landings; – and Restriction on harvest of juvenile fish

The Spiny Dogfish Technical Committee (TC) met to review Draft Addendum IV to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Spiny Dogfish for Public Comment (Draft Addendum IV) and provide feedback to the Spiny Dogfish & Coastal Shark Management Board (Board) regarding the proposed measures.

The Horseshoe Crab Technical Committee (TC) met to review new tagging requests submitted to the US Fish and Wildlife Service (US FWS). The TC also discussed how to conduct field trials using the horseshoe crab artificial bait in the conch and eel fisheries. Finally, the TC reviewed a recently published paper concerning sublethal effects of biomedical bleeding on horseshoe crabs.

The American Lobster Board convened Lobster Conservation Management Teams (LCMT) in Areas 2-6 to recommend methods of exploitation reduction consistent with the options in Draft Addendum XVII.
