  • Arlington, VA – The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Ecological Reference Points (ERP) Workgroup and Atlantic Menhaden Stock Assessment Subcommittee (SAS) will be meeting April 1 – 5, 2019 at the Commission’s office, 1050 N. Highland Street, Suite 200A-N, Arlington, VA. The ERP Workgroup will meet April 1 – 3 and the SAS will meet April 3 – 5. Both groups will be exploring various modeling approaches to evaluate the health of the stock and inform the management of the species in an ecological context.   • Arlington, VA – The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will hold the American Lobster Benchmark Stock Assessment Workshop at the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, 836 South Rodney French Boulevard, New Bedford, MA. The stock assessment, which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2020, will evaluate the health of the Gulf of Maine/Georges Bank and Southern New England stocks and inform management of this species. The Commission’s stock assessment process and meetings are open to the public, with the exception of discussions of confidential data, when the public will be asked to leave the room.   • Arlington, VA – Maine and New Hampshire have scheduled their hearings to gather public input on Draft Addendum I to Amendment 3 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Northern Shrimp. The details of those hearings are attached. The Draft Addendum proposes providing states the authority to allocate their state-specific quota between gear types in the event the fishery reopens. The Draft Addendum is available here and can also be accessed on the Commission website (www.asmfc.org ) under Public Input.   • Arlington, VA – The Commission’s Northern Shrimp Section (Section) will meet on October 4, 2018 at the Maine Historical Society, 2nd Floor Reading Room, 489 Congress Street, Portland, Maine. The Section will review the findings of the 2018 Benchmark Stock Assessment and Peer Review Report, and consider its approval for management use. The Section will also review Draft Addendum I and consider approving the document for public comment.
